You only have to look at Roubaix's town hall to get an idea of the power of the city at the beginning of the 20th century. Built on 6150 M2, this building inaugurated in 1911 is entirely dedicated to what made Roubaix rich at the time. The friezes on the facade evoke the shearing of wool and its treatment until export. Inside, the architecture is just as impressive, with its monumental staircase and the mural fresco by JJ Weerts which evokes the charter of the drapers proclaimed in 1469 by Pierre de Roubaix.
